Regional Scholarships

In 2025, a limited amount of funding will be available to support a student/s from regional areas to undertake Honours at Peter Mac. Students will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and any amount awarded will take in to account any government/other support the student can access and will not exceed $10,000 per student. A sub-committee of the Peter Mac Research Education Training Committee (RETC) will assess any applications. As part of our commitment to enhance cancer nursing education and professional development throughout our membership, we are delighted to announce the availability of three International Cancer Nursing Conference Scholarships for 2024. This includes 2 x CNSA grants of $2500 to assist two members in participating in international cancer nursing conferences, and a $5000 grant, courtesy of Slater and Gordon*, to support one member in attending the World Lung Cancer Conference in San Diego, USA.

International conferences provide a platform for cancer nurses to exchange ideas, share best practices, and learn about the latest advancements in cancer care globally. We are excited to offer the opportunity to support two dedicated cancer nurses in attending an international cancer nursing conference, anticipating that they will return with valuable insights and knowledge to implement new strategies and evidence-based practices in their work, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes in Australia. The 2 x $2500 grants are intended to contribute to expenses such as flights, accommodation, ground transfers, and registration costs.

The Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarship program was announced in 2016 to improve access, educational opportunities and attainment for regional and remote Australians by supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education and training students. Scholarships provide up to $18,000 to students undertaking study at the Certificate IV to PhD level.

The aim of the Destination Australia scholarships is to attract and support international and domestic students to study in regional Australia, to grow and develop regional Australian education providers and offer students a high-quality learning experience. Destination Australia Scholarships are funded by the Australian Government, and are offered by education providers across regional Victoria.

The aim of the Western Alliance Associate Research Fellowship & Scholarship program is to support development of collaborative, applied and translational research that will improve health outcomes for people and communities in the western region of Victoria.
