The team at HREC review, approve and monitor the conduct of research in South West Healthcare and other regional health services. They protect the rights, safety and well-being of research participants. Research governance refers to the processes used to ensure accountability for the scientific quality, ethical acceptability and safety of research conducted at South West Healthcare.

Stan Carroll Library strives to provide quality library service to support best practice and medication safety across South West Healthcare. The Library provides support for South West Healthcare staff and students. You can access the library in person or online 24/7, with access provided for all staff card holders.

The Clinical Trials Unit at SWH provides regional patients with access to new and emerging medications in an effort to improve medical care for all through the participation in Clinical Trials. At present the Clinical Trials Unit at SWH offers Clinical Trials in Oncology including Breast, Bowel, Lung and Pancreatic cancer.Current studies come from Pharmaceutical Industry, Cooperative Groups as well as Investigator Initiated Research.

The Allied Health Research & Knowledge Translation lead facilitates allied health to undertake and implement research to improve service delivery and patient-centred care.

Through a program of training, education, funding and advocacy, Western Alliance supports its members to improve the health of their communities through research-based and evidence-informed health care.

BSWRICS works in partnership with health services and consumers to promote coordinated planning, system integration and improvement of cancer services across their respective regions.
