Sydney Cancer Partners, in collaboration with the NSW Regional Cancer Research Network and Maridulu Budyari Gumal (SPHERE) Cancer Clinical Academic Group (CAG), is hosting the 2026 NSW Cancer Research Education Statewide Seminar Series. These online seminars are held on the third Tuesday of each month.
Session overview
This seminar will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is being applied across different cancer care contexts. The session will begin with a brief introduction to AI in cancer care, followed by presentations from both research and health service perspectives.
• Dr David Waddington will discuss the challenges of developing and robustly deploying AI in a radiation therapy environment.
• Mr Matthew Warner-Smith will present on work undertaken by the Cancer Institute NSW to evaluate and implement AI for mammography screening in BreastScreen NSW.
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A discussion.
