The Clinical Excellence Commission provides a range of tools and resources to support NSW Health staff to improve the quality of care for our patients, however these tools and resources are available to all who access the link. The tools and resources include graphs, charts, diagrams and mapping tools designed to help you plot the data around your intended quality improvement initiative.

By using these tools and resources throughout your Quality Improvement initiative, you and your team can gain a better understanding of the underlying problems that are causing the issue, gain insight as to how best to go about the improvement and develop an effective strategy to complete your project.

Each tool includes background information and instructions on how and when it should be used. Accompanying templates (Excel or PowerPoint) have been developed and are available for staff to download and use with their own data. Links to instructional videos have also been included for most tools, to further assist in the explanation of the resource.

Researchers planning to engage in Indigenous research are strongly advised to develop the project proposal and a Collaborative Research Agreement (CRA) in partnership with their community or organizational partner from the start. Both documents should focus on the nature of the collaboration/partnership and be grounded in the “6 r’s of indigneous research: respect, relationship, relevance, reciprocity, responsibility, and representation.

There are many layers and depths to which these concepts are embodied within Indigenous research. Read the following guide before preparing or reviewing a research project proposal.

A project budget is the estimated financial plan for a specific project, for which funding is required. A budget document or proposal should include the expenses anticipated for a specific period of time, as well as any earned income or financial input generated during the course of the project. The budget is a core component of any proposal, and a well-written budget will enhance a funders understanding of the implementation of a project.

This template is appropriate for clinical trials of non-investigational products (drugs or devices). For, example this may be a behavioural intervention or an educational intervention. Trials are usually defined as any experiment in a well-defined population that systematically evaluates feasibility, efficacy, effectiveness, safety, tolerability and clinical usefulness of an intervention.
