Since its establishment in 2019, the Research Unit has managed projects and clinical trials across a variety of healthcare areas, driven by the specific needs and health priorities of the local community. In developing its clinical research portfolio, the hospital has also built solid foundations and has worked with its support departments to ensure they have access to fully accredited local pathology, radiology and clinical trial pharmacy services. Research at LRH focuses on key areas of need and they have established collaborative partnerships to enhance outcomes.
LRH’s HREC meets bimonthly to review applications for research undertaken at LRH and/or one of our four affiliate sites to ensure projects align with the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007), and as updated (2018).
LRH’s Research Governance Office (RGO) facilitates feasibility and site capacity to ensure research undertaken conforms to the national standards including the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework.
