The project involves eight Clinical Research Sites in Regional Victoria and partners with Metropolitan specialists and academics to deliver a number of projects specific to regional and rural health care needs.
The not-for-profit Border Medical Oncology Research Unit was established in 1998, and to date this unit has been involved in over 350 clinical trials with over 2,000 patients recruited. Types of studies range from surveys to preventative studies to phase I, II and III trials for treatment for medical oncology and haematology, adjuvant and metastatic cancers.
